Games as a Service are a PLAGUE on the Industry

Games as a Service are the MVP (minimum viable product AND most valuable player) in a race to the bottom as the industry displays increasingly long development times for decreasingly finished products.

When thinking about the truly well crafted games in recent years (god of war, Red Dead 2 Single player… Metro Exodus… Spiderman… etc) None of them are games as a service.. the idea of having a bare-bones structure that improves over time is inherently flawed and can never produce truly beautiful games that escape the lacklustre launch of a greedy initial product.
